SF BUILD is looking for a full-time Program Coordinator to provide administrative and logistical support to the NIH funded SF BUILD Project. The mission of SF BUILD is to enhance diversity of the biomedical research workforce by transforming classroom and research environments at SF State and UCSF into affirming and socially inclusive spaces where students, faculty, and staff can safely represent different backgrounds and perspectives. Our work is grounded by a psychosocial model developed by SF BUILD that validates the experiences and personal values of historically underrepresented groups in science to support their professional development as agents of change.
Responsibilities for this position can include, but are not limited to, providing logistical support for the administration of SF BUILD Minigrants, planning writing retreats for faculty and an annual SF BUILD Scholars retreat, planning peer-mentorship activities for SF State Students, and developing material to disseminate SF BUILD activities, events and successes.
The SF BUILD Program Coordinator with work with SF BUILD leadership to plan and schedule regular team meetings with SF State and UCSF faculty and staff, and provide logistical support for these meetings. Since SF BUILD works closely with SF State and UCSF faculty, university administration, students and local communities, prior experience working with these groups, excellent communication skills, and experience navigating various projects is a must.
