Summer Academic Program at Gateway Middle School

About 

As a mentor in the Summer Academic Program, you will deliver biomedical community-related educational activities to 6th/7th grade Middle School students during a 4-week summer program. You will work closely with our Agents of Change Specialist to plan and prepare the 1hr lessons you will deliver. You will be awarded a $3,000 stipend for your work with the program

This is a 4-6hr a week commitment. Participation will begin with a training on June 6th and end with a post-program evaluation on July 20th. The Summer Academic Program with students will run from June 20th to July 15th.

Program Dates: June 6th – July 22nd

5-6hr/week Monday  12pm-2pm and Wednesdays 12pm-3pm

Compensation:  $3,000 Stipend

Tentative Schedule

Training

  • June 6th and 9th, 12-2 pm (Hybrid):  Curriculum Planning and Orientation 
  • June 13th and 15th, 9 am-12 pm (on-site): Building and Gateway Orientation

Program at Gateway 

  • June 20th- July 15th (on-site) Mondays 12-2 pm and Wednesdays 12-3p

Post Program Evaluation 

  • July 18th and 20th, 12-2p (Hybrid)
