Health Equity and Anti-Racism Research (HEAR) Symposium
Overview
Dear Colleagues,
During these challenging times, building community is of utmost importance, and so is continuing to advance the science to serve our communities. We invite you to join the Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Opportunity and Impact at the UCSF Health Equity and Anti-Racism Research (HEAR) Symposium. The HEAR Symposium has been bringing people together to learn about research in health disparities, health equity, and anti-racism for 18 years. There will be over 100 abstracts this year.
The HEAR Symposium brings together researchers, practitioners, and community members to share work that advances health equity and anti-racism. This annual gathering is an opportunity to connect across disciplines, schools, and campus sites—and to spend a day in thoughtful exchange with colleagues from across UCSF and the Bay Area.
This year’s keynote will feature Dr. Eliseo Pérez-Stable, former Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) and a longtime leader in disparities research.
