Validation of a decision instrument for selective CT in adult abdominal/pelvis trauma

Project Description

The objective of this study is to test a decision instrument (combination of clinical criteria) that can be used in the emergency department to predict significant traumatic injuries to the abdomen and pelvis. We will test the screening performance of our instrument prospectively in the Zuckerberg San Francisco General. We have 3 spots available for students. Although this study will start in the fall 2023 and continue for over a year, students do not have to stay with the project that long. We would like at least one semester of involvement.

Institution: UCSF

Eligibility

  • Students who are interested in careers in health care (pre-med, pre-nursing, or other)

Responsibilities

Students will be in the ED conducting surveys regarding Long Covid symptoms in underserved populations.
