- Fellows are eligible to apply for a renewal if they have completed all program requirements from your previous appointment.

Program Overview
The AoC Merck Fellows Program offers a 4-month funding opportunity for students engaged in biomedical research projects impacting community health. Fellows can renew for up to three terms, subject to completing all requirements.
Program Goals
- Provide funding for students in community health-focused biomedical research
- Offer professional development in biomedical sciences with a social justice focus
- Connect students to a network of professionals and peers in social justice and biomedical science

- Stipend: $7K for Grad/Post Bac Fellows, $5K for Undergraduate Fellows
Requirements
- Attend in-person orientation
- Create and submit Individualized Development Plan (IDP)
- Participate in one AoC workshop per semester
- Complete 4 reflections through iLearn
- Submit final report or project
Eligibility
- Current SFSU undergraduate or master's student in a biomedical major, or recent graduate (within 1 year)
- Intent to pursue graduate or professional school within 1-2 years
- Interest in community health-focused biomedical research
- Commitment to social justice through science
- Current involvement in community-engaged biomedical research
- Maximum of 3 terms for renewals
